Every day, it seems another innocuous human activity is made a crime—normal, everyday activities that people engage in, alone or together.
Activities like protecting your family, keeping the money you earn, selling a product or service without the government’s permission, buying medical insurance if and how you want it, saving your mother’s life with medical treatments not approved by government, and sending your children to the school of your choice—these are just a few examples.
The list of freedom crimes goes on.
In the Libertarian Party, we celebrate individuals’ efforts to freely choose how best to survive and thrive.
On behalf of the Libertarian National Committee and the LP headquarters staff, together we would like to invite you to join us for the 2016 Libertarian Party National Presidential Nominating Convention, to help us Legalize Freedom.
When
The convention of delegates will be held from Friday, May 27 through Monday, May 30, 2016 (Memorial Day), with special committee meetings being held on Wed., May 25 and Thurs., May 26. (Visit our Schedule page.)
Where
We’ll be convening in exciting Orlando, Florida, where the Rosen Centre Hotel & Resort has extended us a very special room rate. (See our Hotel page for guest room information, or visit our Hospitality Suites page.)
What
At this biennial convention, your Party will elect its nominees for U.S. President and Vice President, consider proposed amendments to our Platform and Bylaws, and electing our national leadership for the next term.
Delegates
All LP members in good standing are encouraged to attend and help shape the future of the LP and the liberty movement. Contact your state party to find out how to be appointed as an official voting delegate from your state. (See our Delegates page.)
Guests
Family and friends who aren’t LP members or delegates are most welcome to sit in on the convention, to attend the speaker events, or to get out and enjoy Orlando’s family-friendly sights, sounds, attractions, and shopping and recreational opportunities.
