Lyn Ulbricht is the mother of Ross Ulbricht who is alleged to be “The Dread Pirate Roberts” the purveyor of the “The Silk Road”. Ross Ulbricht received two life sentences for all non-violent charges on May 29, 2015. Currently he and his family are appealing his sentence, along with his convictions so he can once again be a free man some day.
Ross’s case and the Silk Road are a defining part of the bitcoin story and the greater questions of human liberty and the current legal system. For conducting an experiment in truly free marketplaces Ross has paid with his life (twice).
